LIGHTHOUSE

An immersive performance installation.

An immersive room for reflection that explores light, dark, and the human ability to see what we can’t see. In this room, you are a participant as you move about and explore or find a quiet place to sit. Around you a collection of small scenes, poetic images and stories blend into each other, inviting you to question how we see the world and how we might hold all the things we cannot see, know or understand. The installation examines how ambience affects meetings between us. Does an unfamiliar environment change the way we meet?

LIGHTHOUSE is staged by artist Sarah John in collaboration with a team of talented creative young people from all over Europe.

Sarah John works with performances and installations. Originally she is from Australia, but has been the artist-in-residence at Carte Blanche since 2012.

The performance is part of POP-UP CULTURE HOUSE – Carte Blanches’ contribution to Aarhus European Capital of Culture 2017.
